The comfort of words

Words speak to my heart more than most things. Some minds can put words to work so well that I can feel the truth and beauty of them resonate in my heart. The words build an image or thought that opens the mind to something I could always feel but never pinpoint. I crave this kind of jolting of my spirit—the connection I feel with someone who says something that moves me so deeply. I rarely can find the words or thoughts that can shake my own self.

One quote I find so simplistically beautiful it brings tears to my eyes:

"I believe if I should die, and you were to walk near my grave, from the very depths of the earth I would hear your footsteps." -Benito Perez Galdos
